Accessibility and Usability Validation Framework for AAL Interaction Design Process
The VAALID project will address the development of advanced computer aid engineering tools for the designers of AAL solutions with focus on the design and validation of the accessibility and usability of the user Interactions between the User (the Senior Citizen) and the Ambient.
The main objective of the project is to develop a 3D-Immersive Simulation Platform for computer aided design and validation of User-Interaction subsystems that improve and optimize the accessibility features of Ambient Assisted Living services, for the social inclusion and independent living of Senior Citizen.
The design of AAL services however is not a trivial and easy to accomplish task. The main fundamental challenge that the project VAALID will address is to help ICT professionals to implement AAL solutions which are easy accessible for the user, technically and economically viable for the producers, and affordable and sustainable for the welfare system.
The VAALID Platform aims to support the ICT developers in the development of AAL Solutions for Senior Citizens. However other important stakeholders participate in the whole process of system design, and therefore they are also considered as VAALID users.
