Silvia de los Rios Pérez

Silvia de los Ríos Pérez is Telecommunication Engineer, specialty in Telematics, by the Carlos III University of Madrid, with a Master of Business Administration, by the Complutense University of Madrid.

She started her professional career as researcher in Vodafone Spain Foundation, working on accessible and inclusive technological solutions for people with disabilities. Silvia is currently senior researcher at Life Supporting Technologies (LifeSTech) research group, where she has extended her areas of interest and expertise covering a wide range of applications of information and communication technologies (ICT) to the social sector, mainly social inclusion, active and healthy ageing and smart culture.

She has collaborated in several R&I projects. Currently, she participates in three European funded projects: City4Age, that aims to enable “Ambient Assisted Cities” or “Age-friendly Cities” for early detection of risks related to cognitive impairments and frailty; IN LIFE, that provides a set of services to support independent living of people with mild cognitive impairments; and DISCOVERY that aims at supporting dialogues and fostering collaboration on ICT R&I between Europe and North America (US and Canada). In addition, she has been involved other three European projects recently finished: TAG CLOUD, LEADERSHIP and CLOUD4All, as well as in the European Integrated Project AEGIS. She has participated in numerous conferences and workshops for dissemination of projects results and she is the author of several scientific papers in national and international conferences.
