Itziar Alonso Marco

Itziar Alonso Marco is studying the professional Engineer degree in Biomedical Engineering from Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid). Her areas of expertise include prototyping, study of basic requirements and Personas modeling, design of Mock-ups and validation scenarios, mobile apps design and user centered design.

She is currently a student who is collaborating at Life Supporting Technologies Group at Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), through her practices and final degree project (TFG), where she is collaborating in the BD4QoL Project, a R&D international and national funded project in the areas of e-Health and e-Inclusion. The aim of this project is to improve head and neck cancer (HNC) survivors’ quality of life through person-centered monitoring and follow-up plan.

During her practices in the BD4QoL she is working on the design and implementation of a prototype of a support system for the monitoring of head and neck cancer survivors. In her final degree project (TFG), she is working on a data analysis study in the HNC field, through a database with different information on head and neck cancer survivors, including responses to the quality of life questionnaires. The scores derived from the QoL questionnaires have been shown to predict the prognosis of the patient, being able to improve the life expectancy and quality of life of these patients.
