She was previously with private companies, where she was involved in CAD-CAE topics. She was an Assistant Professor with the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, Spain, and an Associate Professor with the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio, Spain. From 1992 until 1998 she was member of the “Steering Group” on the NATO civil scientific program “Science for Stability”. Since 1996, she has been a Professor with the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). From February 2011 she has a National Accreditation as Full Professor.
First research interest was on optical computing and chaos theory applied to optical communications. Her present interests are non-linear analysis of biological signals, mainly in Parkinson’s disease and applications of complex network to modeling mammalian retina.
