Juan B. Montalva Colomer

Dr. Juan Bautista Montalvá is M.Sc. in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia since 2003 and PhD. in Bioengineering from the Telecommunication Engineering Faculty at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid since 2015. He also holds a Master in Domotics from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a Postgraduate course in Design for all and Accessibility to ICT technologies from the Industrial Organisation School (EOI) of Madrid.

He joined the group Life Supporting Technologies in 2004, where he is currently a senior researcher. He is the technical coordinator of the Smart House Living Lab facility, at the International Campus of Excellence of Moncloa.

He has participated in several European and National e-Inclusion and Ambient Assisted or Active Living (AAL) projects such as eABILITIES (FP6), AEGIS (FP7), CLOUD4ALL (FP7), AmiVital (CENIT, National funded), UniversAAL (FP7) and ReAAL (CIP), where he has developed inclusive design and usability evaluation skills. Currently, he is actively participating in three projects funded by the EU in the area of Internet of Things (IoT) for Active and Healthy Aging and e-Inclusion (ACTIVAGE (H2020), IN LIFE (H2020) and CITY4AGE (H2020)). He is the author of several scientific papers in national and international journals, and he has participated in numerous conferences and workshops for dissemination of projects results.

Currently his research interests involve e-accessibility, design for all, AAL, and IoT, applied to vulnerable groups of citizens such as users with disabilities and older adults.
